Linda Louise Ellis, 74, of Frisco, TX, formerly of Gibson City, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Medical City Plano in Plano, TX. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Rosenbaum Funeral Home in Gibson City. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Drummer Township Cemetery in Gibson City. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lee Lowery American Legion Post 568.
Linda was born on April 4, 1950, in Hoopeston, IL, a daughter of Robert and Kathryn Gress Davis. She married Walter “Butch” Tom on July 2, 1993, in Gibson City. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2010.
She is survived by her son, Clifford (Paula) Sosamon, and two grandchildren Allan and Kyle Sosamon. She is also survived by her two brothers Tom (Debra) Davis and Tim (Sue) Davis, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Mike Davis, and two children Larry Todd and Kimberly Ann Sosamon.
Linda owned and operated the Coffee Break in Gibson City for many years. She always enjoyed visiting and serving her customers. She was a long-time member of the American Legion Auxiliary, where she eagerly volunteered for its many functions. She always greeted you with a friendly smile and a hug. Linda moved to Texas in 2010, where she enjoyed more time with family. In her free time, she enjoyed reading. Linda will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
