Wright, Pool, Moore win Lakeview Country Club golf titles

LODA – Ally Wright, Kyle Pool and Steve Moore each won a championship at the Lakeview Country Club Championships.

Wright won her second consecutive title in Ladies Division after playing two playoff holes on Sunday.

On July 19, Wright led the field with an opening-round score of 84, ahead of Cheyenne Stiller (85) and Gale Reynolds. Inclement weather postponed the final round to Sunday.

Wright birdied on two of the first three holes in the final round en route to extending her lead to five strokes after carding a 38 on the front nine. Stiller birdied on the 16th hole en route to a tie with Wright.

Wright’s double bogey on the 17th hole handed Stiller a two-shot edge, but Stiller double bogeyed on the 18th hole to card a six that erased her two-shot lead and forced a playoff.

On the second playoff hole, Wright two-putted to claim the title.

In the Men’s Division, Pool and Zach Henderson were tied with scores of 76 apiece after the first round, followed by Dustin Burns (80), Mason Uden (81) and Brad Cosgrove (82).

Henderson took a three-stroke lead after the first three holes, but Pool battled back to tie Henderson at the end of the front nine. Pool then shot a 34 on the back nine to pull away to a six-stroke victory.

In the Seniors Division, Moore led after the first round with a score of 80, followed by defending champion Tony Lee and Doug McCoy (81) and Shawn Young and Dan Gronewold (82).

The final round’s back nine saw multiple momentum swings between Moore and Lee. Moore’s double body on the 14th hole handed the lead to Lee, but Moore responded with three clutch pars on the 15th, 16th and 17th holes to regain control.
