GIBSON CITY — Rosa Jane Cummins, 81, of Gibson City, died peacefully at 10:58 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday July 31, at Rosenbaum Funeral Home in Gibson City, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Drummer Township Cemetery in Gibson
City.
She was born May 18, 1944, in Marion County. Ky., a daughter of Oscar and Elizabeth Followay Benningfield. She married John S. Cummins on July 3, 1971, in Sadorus. He died July 9, 2025.
Surviving are one daughter, Stephanie (Bruce) Kallal of Gibson City; one son, Stephen (Stasha Taylor) Cummins of Gibson City; four grandchildren, Nathan and Carter Kallal and Spencer and Taylor Cummins; three brothers, Bob (Connie) Benningfield of Gibson City, Jerry (Martha) Benningfield of Fulton, Mo., and John (Terri) Benningfield of Gibson City; and one sister, Georgia (Jerry) Lynch of Gibson City.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, George (Bonnie) Benningfield.
She was a homemaker and took great pride in taking care of her husband up until his recent death and raising her children into fine adults with families of their own.
