PAXTON — Raymond P. Jennings, 87, of Paxton, died at 1:33 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 3, at Rosenbaum Funeral Home in Gibson City. Burial will follow at the Elliott Cemetery with military rites accorded. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, July 3, at the funeral home.
Mr. Jennings was born June 22, 1938, in Albion, Mich., a son of Chord F. and Mary Kathryn. He married
Linda Miller on Sept. 5, 1959, in Gibson City. She died Aug. 27, 2014.
Surviving are one son, Stanley Jennings of Ludlow; six grandchildren, Austin, Dylan, Camryn, Abigal, Sophia and Skylar Jennings; two brothers, Jim (Barbara) Jennings and Dave Jennings; one daughter-in-law, Lisa Jennings; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Scott and Travis Jennings; one daughter, Paula; and one sister, Kay.
Mr. Jennings was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Upon being honorably discharged, he began a long career working on vehicles. He owned and operated Jennings Autobody and Jennings Again Collision Center, both in Paxton. He was a business owner in Paxton for 40-plus years. He was always working to provide the best for his family. He also enjoyed going on fishing trips to Canada and was a member of the Loda Sportsman’s Club.
