Obituary: Clyde Hudson


Clyde Hudson, 85 of Elliott Illinois, passed away October 3, 2025 after a short battle with cancer. Visitation will be held 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Friday October 10, 2025 at Rosenbaum Funeral Home in Gibson City. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Dummer Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Blood Cancer United.

Clyde Edward Hudson was born February 4, 1940 in Gibson City IL, at the home of his parents, Frank and Leila Mae Proffitt Hudson.

Clyde married the love of his life, Linda L. Brucker in Cropsey, Illinois on March 12, 1960. She survives. Also surviving are three children Kurt (Danette) Hudson of Mahomet, Vicki Hudson of Mattoon and Gene Hudson of Guthrie. Three grandchildren, David (Brittany) Hudson, Kristina (Rick) Shep, Koal Hudson, and two step grandchildren, Jake (Renee) Moore, Zach (Gillian) Moore and seven great grandchildren Kyndra, Haylee, Makenzie, Cohen, Mason, Everly, Ivy and two step great grandchildren Murphy, Wyatt. Also two sisters, Mary Lou Brickey, Ruth Copher, and three brothers Carl (Donna) Hudson, Doug (Kathy) Hudson and Glen (Pat) Hudson.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, sister Margaret Martin, brother, Jimmy Hudson, sister Kathy Alsip and great grandson Rueger Hudson.

Clyde worked for Flo-con / Vesuvius where he started as a tool and dye maker, and moved into CNC programmer, then shop supervisor and eventually became plant manager. Clyde enjoyed being with family, he was a Chicago Bears and NASCAR fan. Clyde deer hunted for many years with his friends. In retirement he enjoyed camping boating and fishing.
