CLIFTON — Marvin R. Behrends, 82, of Clifton, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025, at Prime Healthcare St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee.
Visitation was from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, at the Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton. A funeral mass was at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at the St. Peter Catholic Church in Clifton with Father Doug Hauber officiating. Burial followed in the St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Clifton.
M r . Behrends was born June 5, 1943, in Milks Grove Township, a son of William and Yvonne (Ducat) Behrends. He married Lenette Hicks on May 22, 2005, in Clifton, and she survives.
Also surviving are one son, Jason Behrends of Clifton; one daughter, Lisa Behrends of Texas; one stepdaughter, Beverly (Steve) Benz of Onarga; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Duane Behrends of Chebanse; and four sisters, Sharon Foster of Paxton, Marilyn Starkey of Normal, Marla Behrends of Chatsworth and Sharlene (Jerome) Finegan of Ashkum.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Dallas Behrends; and one daughter, Karen Behrends.
Mr. Behrends was a member of the St. Peter Catholic Church in Clifton. He served on the soil and water conservation district board as well as the Farm Bureau. He had a passion for horses and showed at many different fairs over the years. He also loved peacocks.
