DANFORTH — John C. Goldenstein, 94, of Danforth, died Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
Visitation was from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, at the Knapp-Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, July 10, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Danforth. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 10, at the church with the Revs. Tim Tammen and Ron Rasmussen officiating. Burial followed in the Danforth Cemetery .
M r . Golden- stein was born March 4, 1931, in Gilman, a son of Louis and Anna ( Claussen)
Goldenstein. He married Judy Luebchow on Feb. 4, 1956, in Buckley.
Surviving are his wife, Judy Goldenstein of Danforth; two sons, Jay (Doris “Charlie”) Goldenstein of Onarga and Jon (Diane) Goldenstein of Watseka; one daughter, Jill (Dave) Christy of Danforth; six grandchildren, Joel (Jill) Goldenstein, Jacob Goldenstein, Jordan (Larina) Goldenstein, Brenna (Justin) Schroeder, Quinn (Jake) Altick and Kelli (Trent) Metzger; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; five sisters; and one grandson, Jim Goldenstein.
Mr. Goldenstein was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Danforth. He loved buying and selling farm equipment, as well as his time spent farming. Most of all, he enjoyed time spent with his family and friends.
