GIBSON CITY — Dolores Jean “DoDo” Kenney, 96, of Gibson City, died at 1:19 a.m. Sunday, June 29, 2025, at her home.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 3, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E. Pells St., Paxton, with the Rev. Mikey Meester officiating. Burial will follow in the Melvin Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 3, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kenney was born June 30, 1928, in Lyman Township in Ford Coun- ty, the daughter of William C. and Florence Elizabeth Underwood Bertram. She married Lawrence Wesley Kenney on Jan. 12, 1947, at the Melvin Methodist Church. He died March 17, 2012.
Surviving are two sisters, Beverly Rueck and Judy Tolbert; one sister-in-law, Elsie Bertram; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-greatnieces and great-great-nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers: Howard, Robert, William, Edwin and Wayne Bertram.
Before moving to Gibson City in 2016, she lived most of her life in Bloomington Normal. She was a dedicated wife and homemaker. She was an avid reader. She enjoyed watching birds, especially cardinals; Big Band music; and spending time in her home. She was interested in life and family and always looked forward to sitting down with family to share a meal.
