RANKIN — Dennis W. Hari, 84, of Rankin, died Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, at the Knapp Funeral Home in Cissna Park. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 17, at the funeral home with the Rev. Charlie Graul officiating. Burial will follow at the Rankin Union Cemetery in Rankin. Graveside military rites will be provided by the Cissna Park American Legion post.
M r Hari was born July 18, 1940, in Iroquois County, the son of Elmer and Anna (Dray- er) Hari. He married Nancy Nease in Rankin on June 4, 1961, and she died June 17, 2018.
Surviving are two daughters, Kathy (Lewis) Brown of Rankin and Terri (Casey) Skelton of St. Louis, Mo.; five grandchildren, Nathan, Grace and Allison Skelton and Anna and Eva Brown; and two sisters, Arcelia Watson and Karen (Todd) Feller.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Mr. Hari served in the U.S. Army. He started farming in 1962 and retired after 35 years. His favorite pastimes included hunting and fishing. He and his wife loved to travel together and visited all seven continents. They also spent many summers at the lake in Birchwood, Wis., with family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
