About 30 children age 14 and under participated in the Gibson City Jordon Pond Committee’s annual fishing derby on Sunday, June 1. The event was sponsored by Thrivent and Gibson Area Hospital & Health Services. Refreshments, food, awards for several fishing categories and participation gifts were provided by Neighborhood Ace Hardware, County Market, Dairy Queen, McDonald’s and Runnings in Gibson City.
