PAXTON — The Paxton Police Department released the following list of recent activity:

Jonathan L. Sparks, 48, of Paxton, was arrested for possession of a weapon by a felon, unlawful use of a weapon, possession of ammunition without a Firearm Owner’s Identification card, possession of fireworks, operating a vehicle with suspended registration, operating an uninsured vehicle, driving with a revoked driver’s license, no front license plate, improper display of registration and unlawful use of a driver’s license during a traffic stop at 4:26 p.m. Sunday, July 6, at the intersection of Railroad Avenue and Orleans Street. The vehicle he was driving — a 2022 Ford F-150 pickup truck — was impounded by police under city ordinance. The traffic stop was conducted after Paxton police were notified by the city’s Flock Safety license-plate-reading cameras of a vehicle with a suspended registration. After locating and stopping the vehicle, police determined that Sparks’ license was revoked. He was also found to be a convicted felon. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, a loaded 9-mm pistol was located, along with various ammunition and magazines and a large amount of fireworks.

Michael T. Atkins, 56, of Paxton, was arrested on an Iroquois County warrant for failure to appear in court for possession of methamphetamine on Sunday, July 6, after Paxton police, who were aware that he was wanted on the warrant, saw him in the backyard of his residence in the 300 block of East Spruce Street around 7:42 a.m.

Andrew T. Dorrough, 18, of Paxton, was arrested for battery around 8:06 p.m. Thursday, July 3, after Paxton police responded to a report of a fight at the Weaver

Court trailer park.Upon arrival, police spoke with a person who said they were battered by Dorrough, who had left in a silver Mazda MZ6. Police soon located the vehicle in the 300 block of East Bogardus Street and arrested Dorrough without incident.

Three Paxton residents — James D. Hawk Jr., 57; Megan C. Hawk, 31; and Chad A. Matherne, 50 — were arrested after police executed a search warrant at a home at 611 E. Center St. around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, finding stolen proper- ty that includ- ed Harl e y – D a – vidson motorcycle parts, collector cards and fishing equip- ment, plus mul t ipl e baggies of met h amphetamine, cannabis, hydrocodone and digital scales. The search of the home, done with the assistance of the Ford County Sheriff’s Office, followed an investigation into reports of residential burglaries on Paxton’s east side. On Tuesday, June 3, Paxton police took a report of a residential burglary in the 600 block fo East Patton Street, where collector cards and fishing equipment were stolen. On Monday, June 30, Paxton police took a report of a residential burglary in the 500 block of North Union Street, where Harley-Davidson parts were stolen. James Hawk was arrested for residential burglary, burglary, theft/possession of stolen property, criminal trespass to a building, criminal damage to property and possession of fewer than 5 grams of methamphetamine. Matherne was arrested for residential burglary, theft/possession of stolen property, possession of fewer than 5 grams of methamphetamine and possession of cannabis with intent to deliver (93 grams). Megan Hawk was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (hydrocodone) and possession of fewer than 5 grams of methamphetamine.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY

CHATSWORTH — David R. Fredericks, of Sheldon, was arrested for three counts of manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance and one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, all Class X felonies, after a search warrant was executed around 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, at a residence in the 300 block of East Locust Street in Chatsworth, where authorities found 1,209 doses of LSD, 298 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 3,866 grams of THC concentrate, 184 grams of cannabis flower, multiple prescription pills and more than $3,000 in cash, according to a news release from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.

IROQUOIS COUNTY

WATSEKA — The Iroquois County Sheriff’s Office released the following list of recent activity:

Refugio Vela-Mones, 46, of Kankakee, was arrested for driving with a revoked driver’s license and on a Kankakee County warrant for failure to appear in court for driving with a revoked driver’s license during a traffic stop on Thursday, July 3, and was transported to the Iroquois County Jail in Watseka and later released with a notice to appear in court.

Bretton Edwards, 35, of Watseka, was arrested for aggravated domestic battery on Thursday, July 3, in the 300 block of West Walnut Street in Watseka. The arrest came after police received complaints alleging multiple instances of abuse against a female victim, on Thursday, July 3, and was transported to the Iroquois County Jail to await an appearance in court.

Gannyn Waltz, 20, of Watseka, was arrested for aggravated criminal sexual abuse on Wednesday, July 2, after sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a sexual assault in the area of county roads 2500 East and 2500 North. Waltz was transported to the Iroquois County Jail and later released with a notice to appear in court.

Travis Walker, 39, of Wellington, was arrested for disorderly conduct on Monday, June 30, after sheriff’s deputies were called to the post office in Wellington, where employees stated that Walker was causing a disturbance, refusing to leave and threatening staff. Walker was transported to the Iroquois County Jail and later released with a notice to appear in court.

Brittney Schultz, 29, of Milford, was arrested on an Iroquois County warrant for failure to appear in court for possession of a controlled substance on Monday, June 30, at the Iroquois County Courthouse in Watseka. Schultz was transported to the Iroquois County Jail and later released with a notice to appear in court.
