PAXTON — The Paxton Police Department released the following list of recent activity:

Cassandra M. Poll, 36, of Clarence, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and ticketed for illegal transportation of alcohol and no rear registration light during a traffic stop at 11:49 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, in the 300 block of West Walnut Street. Also arrested was a passenger — Ian S. Gaffney, 34, of Paxton, for unlawful possession of cannabis in motor vehicle. The traffic stop was conducted after Paxton police were notified that a vehicle had driven through a fence and got stuck in a yard in the 300 block of West Walnut Street and was attempting to leave. After police located the vehicle heading south on Maple Street, they noticed that its rear license plate light was not working, then stopped the vehicle near Franklin and American streets. During the traffic stop, police noticed an odor of alcohol and that the driver — Poll — had slurred speech and bloodshot and glassy eyes. Also in plain view was an open Busch Lite beer can. failed all field-sobriety testing, was arrested and transported to the Ford County Jail, where she submitted to a breath test that registered her blood alcohol content at 0.227, nearly three times the legal limit. The 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer that Poll was driving was impounded by police under city ordinance. Meanwhile, police found drug paraphernalia and 2 grams of cannabis in the possession of Gaffney, who was also taken to jail.

Zonte L. Portis, 31, of Paxton, and Armoane L. Larkins, 47, of Rantoul,

were each arrested for possession of a controlled substance ( 1 5 – 1 0 0 grams of cocaine), a Class 1 felony, with Portis charged additionally with posses- sion of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (15-100 grams of cocaine), a Class X felony, after Paxton police, assisted by the Ford County Sheriff’s Office and Gibson City Police Department, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of East Chestnut Street around 6:57 a m. Wednesday, June 4, finding 22 grams of crack cocaine, a digital scale and drug-manufacturing items. A total of $928 in cash found in possession of Portis was seized by police, as well.

No injuries were reported and no tickets were issued following a two-vehicle accident at 4:48 p m. Monday, June 2, at the intersection of Summer and Vermilion streets on Paxton’s southeast side. The accident happened when Carol A. Gantter, 89, of Paxton, was driving a 2021 Cadillac XT5 east on Summer Street and struck a southbound 2017 Jeep Renegade driven by Lynn M. Eichelberger, 69, of Paxton, as Eichelberger’s vehicle was passing through the intersection.

GIBSON CITY — The Gibson City Police Department released the following list of persons arrested or ticketed recently:

Sebastian Cesar Cristobal, 22, of Champign, for operating a vehicle with no valid driver’s license and failure to wear a seat belt on Thursday, June 5.

WATSEKA — The Iroquois County Sheriff’s Office released the following list of recent activity:

Coty Huckleby, 36, of Sheldon, was arrested for driving with a suspended driver’s license during a traffic stop on Thursday, June 5, and was transported to the Iroquois County Jail in Watseka and later released with a notice to appear in court.

Justin Sauberli, 34, of Donovan, was arrested for criminal trespass to real property on Wednesday, June 4, and was transported to the Iroquois County Jail in Watseka and later released with a notice to appear in court.

Chad Koester, 36, of Gilman, was arrested for driving with a revoked driver’s license during a traffic stop on Tuesday, June 3, and was transported to the Iroquois County Jail in Watseka and later released with a notice to appear in court.
