WATSEKA — The Iroquois County Sheriff’s Office released the following list of recent activity: n Larry Holder, 50, of Cissna Park, was arrested after sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a sex offender in a public park in the area of Second and Garfield streets in Cissna Park on Wednesday, May 28. Upon arrival, deputies confirmed that Holder is a registered sex offender and required to stay away from public parks. Holder was located in the 300 block of West Garfield Street. He transported to the Iroquois County Jail in Watseka and later released with a notice to appear in court.

Brandon Wood, 41, homeless, was arrested for criminal trespass to railroad property on Wednesday, May 28, after sheriff’s deputies received a report of a person trespassing on railroad property in the area of U.S. 24 and County Road 2650 East. Wood was transported to the Iroquois County Jail in Watseka and later released with a notice to appear in court.

Seth Dunn, 26, of Goodland, Ind., was arrested for driving with a suspended driver’s license and possession of drug paraphernalia on Monday, May 26, and was transported to the Iroquois County Jail in Watseka and later released with a notice to appear in court. n Melissa Morefield, 36, of Milford, was arrested on Sunday, May 25, on two warrants — including an Iroquois County warrant for failure to appear in court for burglary and a Champaign County warrant for failure to appear in court for resisting a peace officer — and was transported to the Iroquois County Jail in Watseka and later extradited to Champaign County.

n Dakota C. Hudspeth, 32, of Gilman, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine (more than 15 grams) and two counts of possession of a controlled substance on Sunday, May 25. The arrest occurred after sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a man sleeping in his vehicle at the Gilman Mini Mart, then searched the vehicle, finding methamphetamine and controlled substances. Hudspeth was transported to the Iroquois County Jail in Watseka and later released with a notice to appear in court.

PAXTON — The Paxton Police Department released the following list of recent activity:

Jeffrey W. Young, 28, of Paxton, was ticketed for failure to yield when exiting a private drive on Friday, May 23, following a two-vehicle accident in the 700 block of South Railroad Avenue. The accident occurred around 7:04 a m. when Young was pulling out of the parking lot of Dollar General, 755 S. Railroad Ave., while driving a 2024 Nissan Rogue, which struck a northbound 2016 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by James W. Flessner, 49, of Paxton. No injuries were reported.
