PBL seeking community’s input on new superintendent

Responses due Aug. 10 for new online survey
PAXTON-BUCKLEY-LODA SCHOOL DISTRICT

PAXTON — The Paxton-Buckley Loda school district is searching for its next superintendent and is looking to the community for input.

The school board is asking for community members to complete an online survey. It will give the board an idea of what qualities staff, parents and other district stakeholders believe are important for a superintendent to have. Other questions include whether district stakeholders believe it is important for the next superintendent to have teaching experience, principal experience, or live in the district.

The school board hired the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) to help find the district’s next superintendent. The results of the survey will be tallied and used by the board and screening team to develop a brochure to advertise the position.

“The selection of a new superintendent is probably the most important decision a Board of Education has to make,” said a post on PBL’s Facebook page.

All survey responses and comments will be anonymous. The deadline to submit a response is Friday, Aug. 10.

The search comes after former Superintendent Travis Duley announced his resignation in June.

And earlier this year, the school district received multiple complaints of inappropriate touching against Robert Pacey, a teacher and former volunteer coach. Since then, several lawsuits have been filed against Pacey. the school district and several administrators.
