GIBSON CITY — The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley school board is scheduled to meet at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, in the board room at the unit office at 307 N. Sangamon Ave. in Gibson City, with the following on the meeting’s agenda:
A closed session to discuss specific employees, pending or probable litigation involving the school district, student disciplinary cases and the minutes of closed sessions, with possible action to follow that includes approval of the employment of support staff, coaches and sponsors; job descriptions; and the destruction of audio recordings of closed sessions dating through end of January
2024.
Acceptance of two donations from the GCMS Booster Club, including a $119 donation to the track program and a $2,607 donation to the girls’ and boys’ basketball programs.
Approval of a facility use agreement with the GCMS youth football and cheerleading program for outdoor practices and games from August through October, plus a separate agreement with Girls On the Run for the use of the elementary school from September through November.
Reports from the board’s policy committee, building, grounds and transportation committee, personnel
and finance committee, and strategy and enrichment committee.
Approval of internal fund transfers, as recommended by Russ Leigh & Associates.
The setting of a public hearing on the proposed budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, at the unit office.
Review of a proposed board meeting calendar.
Information on annual mandated training, a teacher resignation requirement law change, a teacher evaluation/ student growth change, and the district’s communication platform Parent Square. The meeting is open to the public.
