PAXTON — Some of the Ford County Board’s committees were set to meet this week ahead of the full board’s regular monthly meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, in the board room in the basement of the sheriff’s office and jail in Paxton.
The executive committee was scheduled to meet at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, to discuss and take possible action on: a multifunction printer contract; seeking bids for a multifunction printer lease; allowing the county treasurer to destroy certain records; the hiring of a fulltime probation officer and full-time deputy clerk; and accepting an engagement letter with Wipfli LLC to conduct payroll services for the county through the county clerk and recorder’s office starting Oct. 1, with services billed starting next fiscal year on Dec. 1. The executive committee is chaired by Chase McCall of Gibson City and also comprised of Randy Ferguson of Gibson City, Lesley King of Piper City, Sarah Mussman of Gibson City, Greg Niewold of rural Loda, Tim Nuss of rural Roberts and Carson Vaughn of Paxton.
The sheriff committee will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, in the board room at the sheriff’s office and jail to review and approve the monthly claims and receive reports from the county’s sheriff, coroner and emergency management agency coordinator. The sheriff committee is chaired by Vaughn and also comprised of Ferguson, Mussman, Nuss and Gene May of Paxton.
