Rosendahl pitches eight-inning shutout for GCMS in 5-0 win over Watseka


WATSEKA – The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley varsity softball team won 5-0 in an eight-inning contest over Watseka on Wednesday.

Mallory Rosendahl pitched a four-hit shutout for GCMS (9-6), striking out 11 batters and walking none as the Falcons scored all five of their runs in the eighth inning.

Taylor Beck reached base on an error before Maci Lindelof hit a go-ahead two-run homer to center field.

With one out, Izzy Gawthorp drew a walk and Cally Kroon – who hit 2-for-3 with a double – singled to left field before Kate Kristensen smacked a three-run homer to center field.
