GIBSON CITY – The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Middle School baseball team won 9-2 over Paxton-Buckley-Loda Junior High School on Thursday.
Jared Caviness hit 4-for-4 with four RBIs and a run scored for GCMS while Ben Roesch went 3-for-3 with two triples, a double, two RBIs and three runs scored. Diezel Paris provided an RBI and scored three runs while Miles Lindleof and Gavin Lange each had an RBI as well.
For PBL, Tomasi Suaava hit 2-for-3 with a double while Seth Bangert and Dawson Rapp each produced an RBI and Luke Niewold doubled.
On the mound, Case Jester earned the win for GCMS, striking out nine batters and walking three while allowing one earned run on three hits through six innings. Duncan White allowed one earned run on one hit and two walks through one inning.
For PBL, Bangert allowed seven runs – six earned – on nine hits and two walks with five strikeouts through four innings pitched. Pierce Kingren allowed two runs – one earned – on three hits and one walk with one strikeout through two innings.
