CHAMPAIGN – The Cissna Park High School volleyball team won the Morgan Lee Buerkett Volleyball Tournament on Saturday.
After winning 25-11, 25-18 over Trinity River Forest, 25-19, 25-17 over LeRoy, 21-25, 25-13, 15-8 over Mount Pulaski and 25-22, 25-18 over Pontiac, the Timberwolves (30-1) claimed the championship with a 28-26, 18-25, 28-26 victory over Hartsburg-Emden.
Addison Lucht finished the tournament with 56 kills and 32 digs while Josie Neukomm had 44 kills, 27 digs and six blocks. Lucht and Neukomm were each named to the all-tournament team.
Sophie Duis had 17 kills and seven blocks while Marina Day and Ava Henrichs each had 12 kills. Mady Marcott had 65 assists and 31 digs while Ella Schluter had 50 assists and 18 digs and Kendyl Neukomm had 29 digs.
