PBL boys track places second at home invite

PAXTON – The Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School boys track and field team finished second in the PBL Boys Invite on Tuesday.

The Panthers finished the 10-team meet with a score of 113 while St. Thomas More won the meet with a score of 123. Tri-Point finished sixth with a score of 56 while Buckley Christ Lutheran finished 10th with a score of five.

In the 800-meter run, Tri-Point’s Aiden Pelehowski finished first with a time of 2:15.06 while PBL’s Brady Young finished second with a time of 2:17.51. Tri-Point’s Anthony Harrell and Franky Barriga finished sixth and eighth, respectively, with times of 2:29.75.

In the 1,600-meter run, Tri-Point’s Mihreteab Gilleland finished first with a time of 4:48.48 while PBL’s Isaiah Busby, Aiden Kerr and conner Rodriguez finished third, fourth and sixth, respectively, with times of 5:01.19, 5:07.73 and 5:31.18. Tri-Point’s Nate Smith and Glen Richie finished seventh and eighth, respectively, with times of 5:33.11 and 5:34.06.

In the long jump, PBL’s Robert Boyd-Meents finished first with a leap of 6.08 meters while teammate Keegan Spegal finished fifth with a jump of 5.51 meters. Christ Lutheran’s Gabriel Bohlmann finished ninth with a leap of 4.72 meters. Bohlmann finished fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.23 meters.

In the 3,200-meter run, PBL’s Aiden Kerr finished first with a time of 11:14.95 while Conner Rodriguez finished third with a time of 11:41.16. Tri-Point’s Glen Richie finished sixth with a time of 12:53.38.

In the shot put, PBL’s Kendall Swanson finished first with a throw of 13.3 meters while Tri-Point’s Kaleb Metke finished sixth with a throw of 11.09 meters and PBL’s Heiden Tester and Alex Swanson finished seventh and eighth, respectively, with throws of 11.06 and 10.59 meters. Tri-Point’s Anthony Robinson finished ninth with a throw of 10.38 meters while PBL’s Rolen Edison and Arlo Linder finished 17th and 19th, respectively, with throws of 9.05 and 8.26 meters and Tri-Point’s Raynen Hummel and Khayman Essington finished 21st and 22nd, respectively, with throws of 7.52 and 7.19 meters.

In the 4×100 relay, PBL’s Keegan Spegal, Benjamin Schmidt, Dalton Jones and Robert Boyd-Meents finished first with a time of 45.25 seconds. Tri-Point’s Donovan Conner, Gavin Jarman, Kaleb Metke and Chase Hummel finished fifth with a time of 51.48 seconds.

In the 4×400 relay, PBL’s Brady Young, Benjamin Schmidt, Dalton Jones and Isaiah Busby finished first with a time of 3:44.87 while Tri-Point’s Chase Hummel, Mihreteab Gilleland, Aiden Pelehowski and Spencer Moreno finished third with a time of 4:01.04.

In the 110-meter hurdles, PBL’s Mason Vaughan finished second with a time of 17.06 seconds.

In the 4×800 relay, Tri-Point’s Franky Barriga, Nate Smith, Aiden Pelehowski and Mihreteab Gilleland finished second with a time of 9:31.16.

In the discus, PBL’s Kendall Swanson finished third with a throw of 36.88 meters while teammate Heiden Tester finished fifth with a throw of 32.08 meters. Tri-Point’s Donovan Conner and Colton Dohe finished seventh and ninth, respectively, with throws of 26.94 and 26.72 meters while PBL’s Alex Swanson and Arlo Linder finished 10th and 12th, respectively, with throws of 26.41 and 24.71 meters, Tri-Point’s Anthony Robinson finished 19th with a throw of 20.27 meters, PBL’s Rolen Edison finished 21st with a throw of 18.86 meters and Tri-Point’s Khayman Essington finished 22nd with a throw of 18.07 meters.

In the 100-meter dash, PBL’s Robert Boyd-Meents and Keegan Spegal finished fourth and fifth, respectively, with times of 11.89 and 12.04 seconds while Tri-Point’s Donovan Conner finished 13th with a time of 12.93 seconds and Christ Lutheran’s Gabriel Bohlmann finished 14th with a time of 12.98 seconds. Tri-Point’s Chase Hummel finished 15th with a time of 13.08 seconds while PBL’s Kenneth Williams finished 17th with a time of 13.27 seconds and Tri-Point’s Hunter Davies and Anthony Robinson finished 19th and 24th, respectively, with times of 13.78 and 15.5 seconds.

In the 400-meter dash, PBL’s Zane Latimer finished sixth with a time of 57.58 seconds while Tri-Point’s Spencer Moreno and Anthony Harrell finished eighth and 11th, respectively, with times of 59.62 and 1:03.7 and PBL’s Tyson Franckey finished 16th with a time of 1:23.13.

In the 200-meter dash, Tri-Point’s Chase Hummel finished seventh with a time of 25.99 while PBL’s Eli Grohler finished ninth with a time of 27.17 seconds. Tri-Point’s Hunter Davies finished 10th with a time of 28.25 seconds.

In the 300-meter hurdles, PBL’s Mason Vaughan finished seventh with a time of 48.76 seconds while teammate Von Lane finished ninth with a time of 52.14 seconds.
