HOOPESTON – The Paxton-Buckley-Loda eighth-grade girls basketball team pulled off an upset as a sixth seed in the IESA Class 3A Hoopeston Area Regional quarterfinals on Saturday.
The Panthers defeated third-seeded Westville 36-20.
Tessa Boehme scored 12 points and grabbed five rebounds to lead PBL while Morgan Goss also scored in double figures with 11 points and three rebounds.
Tinley Boehme scored six points and grabbed four rebounds while Payton Luebchow had three points and five assists, Mackenzie Garrelts had two points and one rebound and Avery Curry had two points and one rebound.
The Panthers will face second-seeded St. Joseph in the regional semifinals at 7:15 p.m. Monday.
