CHAMPAIGN — Brundy (Marquis) Marron, 80, mother of a Paxton resident, died peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, Dec. 16, 2022, at Bickford Memory Care in Champaign.
A private family memorial will be observed at a later date in one of her favorite places.
Mrs. Marron was born March 23, 1942, in Beaverville to William and Denise (Laney) Marquis. She graduated from Donovan High School and went on to earn her nursing degree from Lakeview Nursing School in Danville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bill Marquis; and her former husband, Thomas Marron.
Surviving are her children, Kellie (Todd) Brady of Mahomet and Rocky (Lori) Marron of Paxton; five grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
She will be remembered for being a hardworking mom who loved to watch her son play all sports, especially football, and never missed a game, even his college games. She also set the example for her daughter to be a loving and supportive mom and now grandparent.
After her children were grown, Mrs. Marron combined her two loves — traveling and nursing — to become a traveling labor and delivery nurse. She loved being a traveling nurse in all the warm places during the winter months — her favorites being St. Thomas, Florida, Arizona, Texas, Georgia, Kansas and South Carolina — and then coming home in the summer to spoil her grandsons. They were her true joy.
