GCMS girls basketball wins 46-38 over Fisher

GIBSON CITY – The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley varsity girls basketball team won 46-38 over Fisher on Monday.

The Falcons (10-19, 3-10 Heart of Illinois Conference) outscored Fisher 8-4 in the second quarter to tie the game at 19-19 at halftime. Cally Kroon scored four points while Reagan Tompkins made a 3-pointer and Sophia Ray added a free throw.

In the third quarter, GCMS outscored the Bunnies 12-6 as Savannah Shumate and Kroon each scored five points while Ray had two points. The Falcons outscored Fisher 15-13 in the fourth quarter as Shumate had six points while Mallory Rosendahl made 4-of-6 shots from the free-throw line, Rylee Stephens made 3-of-4 shots from the charity stripe and Ray added a basket.

Kroon finished the game with 14 points while Shumate also scored in double figures with 11 points. Ray and Tompkins each had six points while Stephens had five points and Rosendahl had four points.
