GIBSON CITY – The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley varsity girls basketball team won 45-4 over Iroquois West in the Lady Falcon & Bunnie Tip-Off Classic on Tuesday.
The Falcons (2-0) shut out Iroquois West in the first half.
In the first quarter, Lily Sizemore scored eight points for GCMS while Cally Kroon had four points and Savannah Shumate added a 3-pointer. Mindy Brown had six points in the second quarter while Sizemore and Anna Warren each had three points and Hadley Doman and Mallory Rosendahl each had two points as the Falcons went into halftime leading 31-0.
The Falcons extended their lead to 41-3 in the third quarter as Sizemore had five points, Brown had four points and Rosendahl had four points.
Sizemore finished the game with 16 points while Brown also scored in double figures with 11 points. Doman had five points while Kroon had four points and Rosendahl, Shumate and Warren each had three points.
